The thicker the wear layer- measured in MILS- the longer your flooring will last. You can get a 6 mil, 8 mil, 12 mil and 20 to 20+ mil product. We recommend for residential use, use no less than a 20 mil wear layer. In addition to being stain, scuff, and scratch resistant, LVT and LVP are completely waterproof.
